Mostonians Win At Home To Horwich & Reserves Draw Away To Horwich Reserves
Mostonians AFC played their second game of the season at home to Horwich RMI. Horwich beat Old Mancunians FC at home the previous week 4-3, this displayed that they play an attacking style of football.
Mostonians started out of the blocks with some great football having a few good chances but none of them looked like they were going to fly in. It then went to Martin Barnes-Gott to fire home a great drive from around 16 yards out. Mostonians were then awarded a penalty later on in the first half; this was converted calmly by Kevin Kelly.
In the second half Horwich RMI did start playing some nice football but didn’t create too many chances forcing Mark Pearce to make one save. Their goal came from a through ball which was about 5 yards off side but was not given. James O'Hanlon finished the game late on in the second half with a shot low into the corner.
Mostonians Reserves drew 2-2 with both goals coming from the spot.
